If you don't see an answer to your burning question email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Chances are you're not alone so we'll add it to the FAQs.
What should I bring?
At least one gi. There are laundry facilities available onsite.
Rash guards; there may be opportunities for some no gi action.
Toiletries (sunscreen for those who plan to take in the sun...That 9,600' in elevation puts you a little closer to the sun).
Sunglasses...for the same reason above!
Hiking boots (or comfortable shoes), if you plan to hike.
A light jacket in case the weather gets a little cool at night. (Or it snows like it did last year... it is an event in Colorado, after all so plan accordingly.)
Mouth pieces & Grapple Happy Hats, if you got 'em.
Your own drawers and bras...we ain't sharin'!
Braces and sleeves, if you need 'em.
Sports tape, if you use it!
Towels and linens are provided.
Where are we staying?
We have a large hostel, The Bunkhouse, in the town of Minturn, CO all to ourselves. The house has an industrial washer and dryer available at any time. There are 6 showers, 6 toilet stalls and custom-built bunk beds made of locally sourced wood that feature electrical outlets, curtains for privacy, bag storage, private lamps and usb ports. Stay connected on your devices, stream a film or take a nap between training sessions in the comfort of these cozy, private bunks. There is enough space for everyone to be comfortable. Bonus: they stock earplugs in every room!
When & where are we training?
Hybrid Nation Martial Arts has opened their doors to our event. BJJ sessions will happen there.
The training schedule will be provided to you a few weeks before the start of the Retreat. Expect to have the opportunity to train twice a day the full days of the Retreat.
What else is there to do when we're not training?
Lots! There's local hiking, biking and fly-fishing; even a Saturday Market in the parking lot of the hostel! As the event gets closer, we'll put out a vote to choose a group activity we can all do together.
If you have a specific question about an activity, or are wondering if you'll have time for something, email us at and we'll see if we can help you figure that out.
